Custom Community Acupuncture Events

Want to chill out and heal in a communal setting. I am now offering customized Community Acupuncture services. If you have an event, retreat or a group you want to invite more healing or calm into, I will bring my community acupuncture kit to you.

What is Community Acupuncture and How Does it Work?

  • Participation: To gain the benefits of community, we need 6-12 recipients/participants per 2 hour increment. For groups of 13 or more, additional 2 hour increments are recommended or we can add additional acupuncturists for your event.

  • Timing: recipients/participants can have a staggered start, receive individualized care or it can be facilitated in a group class or therapy session where the is at least 1 hour devoted toward acupuncture.

  • The set up for acupuncture: I will bring the acupuncture supplies and, if space allows, portable reclining chairs. The set up can be a conference room or kitchen with large table to sit around, a yoga or dance studio, a patio, or any room or space that allows for lounging.

  • Accessibility: There will be several "zero gravity chairs" available for those who can't get on and off the floor easily. If you are wheelchair bound, we can treat you in a wheelchair.

  • Acupuncture is Healthcare and We Managing Privacy Accordingly: We provide online intakes and consent forms to be completed ahead of events. Community sessions in a group therapy or in a facilitated group may have shared conversations about treatment. Pre treatment surveys enable us to keep any conversations about private health concerns to a minimum while in the company of others.

  • What to Wear and Needle Placement: With community format, patients will be clothed the entire session (loose fitting, comfortable clothing is encouraged). Needles will predominantly be inserted on heads/ears, forearms, hands, lower legs and feet.

  • Modalities: The community acupuncture session modality options included in our services are needles, aromatherapy and/or acupressure. Additional services can be added to your event including restorative yoga, qi gong, cupping and gua sha.

  • Benefits of Community Acupuncture: I have practiced, witnessed, and experienced community acupuncture in multiple settings and have found it deeply relaxing and often even more potent than one-on-one care. Acupuncturists attribute this to "group qi." In other words, healing is contagious and even more so in a community acupuncture setting.
